Indoor light quality is the intensity and amount of illumination interior spaces. Technological developments have led to utilisation artificial natural light. Illumination crucial in visibility tasks. Quality can influence visual comfort ocular health students. Although Kenya lacks lighting standards for schools, ISO CIE provide international guidelines on optimal various facilities. This study was conducted public boarding secondary schools Nairobi City County assess or discomfort students classrooms. The utilised a cross-sectional descriptive design. Four hundred twenty-three were randomly sampled from 8 schools. levels measured 38 classrooms using calibrated Benetech GM1010 metre compared recommended by CIE. A self-administered semi-structured questionnaire used collect data students’ discomfort. Data analysed SPSS version 23. Descriptive frequencies, while inferential chi-square. established that 15% respondents experience during day, 13.5% at night, 12.7% both day night. Fourteen achieved level 7:30, 20 13:00 hours, 10 18:00 hours. Recorded ranged 56.71 lux 1289.93 lux. found statistically significant association between factors such as existing eye problems, presence blinds curtains, number windows, whiteboards, classroom orientation student sitting positions. recommends need ensure indoor their facilities enhance learning
